PASTOR: Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and
trust in Christ:
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of
sinners,
Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example
for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life.
The peace of the Lord be always with you!

PASTOR: What does God require in the sixth commandment?
PEOPLE: That neither in thoughts, nor words, nor gestures,

myself, nor willfully expose myself
to any danger. For this reason also
the magistrate is armed with the sword, to prevent murder.
PASTOR: But is it enough that we do not kill any man
in the manner mentioned above?
PEOPLE: No: for when God forbids envy, hatred, and anger,
he commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves;
to show patience, peace, meekness, mercy, and all kindness, towards him, and
prevent his hurt as much as in us lies;

Thy Mercy, My God
Thy mercy my God is the theme of my song
The joy of my heart and the boast of my tongue

so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the
hope of eternal life.
