Hymn 604 (v.1,3-6)
  Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart

PUBLIC CONFESSION OF SIN

O most great, most just and gracious God, You are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity, but You have promised mercy through Jesus Christ to all that repent and believe in Him. We confess that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. We have neglected your holy worship. We have not sought Your Kingdom first. You have revealed Your wonderful love to us in Christ and offered us pardon and salvation in Him, but we have turned away. We have run into temptation, and the sin that we should have hated, we have committed.

Have mercy on us, most merciful Father! In Your Son is our salvation, in Your promises our hope. Take us for Your children and give us the Spirit of Your Son, through Jesus Christ our only Savior. Amen.

SILENT CONFESSION OF SIN

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

1 Timothy 1:15–16

LEADERHear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

RESPONDING IN SONG

Hymn 80
  Lord, with Glowing Heart I’d Praise Thee

CONFESSION OF FAITH

Apostles’ Creed

LEADER:People of God, what do we believe?

PEOPLE: We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
he remained under the power of death.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy apostolic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

• Choral Offertory - A New Psalm (Drennan)

Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things.
Sing to the Lord a new song, for He is the King of Kings.
Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth.
Break forth into joyous song and sing His praises.

Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn,
Make a joyful noise before the king the Lord!
And let the sea roar, and all that fills it,
The world, and all those who dwell in it.
Let the rivers clap their hands in heartfelt praise.
Let the mountains sing together for joy.

PRAISING OUR GOD

PREPARING TO HEAR GOD'S WORD

Ensemble & Congregation
  Lord, I Lift Your Name on High

Lord, I lift Your name on high; Lord, I love to sing Your praises.
I’m so glad You’re in my life; I’m so glad You came to save us.
You came from heaven to earth to show the way,
From the earth to the cross: my debt to pay.
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky;
Lord, I lift your name on high!

Greatly Rejoice

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who has caused us to be born again to a living hope,
Who has caused us to be born again to a living hope,
A hope that won’t fade away, reserved in heaven for us,
Protected by the power of God through faith, we are saved, we are saved!

We greatly rejoice w ith joy inexpressible,
Greatly rejoice with glorious praise, greatly rejoice in a life incorruptible,
Love beyond measure, and infinite grace,
Love beyond measure, and infinite grace.

Through the trials of life you’re working to prove our faith as gold,
In Your love we’re persevering for one day soon we know
You’ll explode through the clouds as Your shout cracks the sky,
Dead in Christ will arise as You call home Your bride,
And though we’ve not seen Your face, this greatest glory awaits,
‘Till then by the power of God through faith we are saved, we are saved!

Repeat Chorus

APPLYING GOD'S WORD

Pastor Dave Clelland

"Shout for Joy” - Psalm 98

RESPONDING IN SONG

Ensemble and Congregation

Shout to the Lord

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like you:
All of my days I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love.
My Comfort, my Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of your name.
I sing for joy at the work of your hands,
Forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand;
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
