LEADER: I love you, O LORD , my strength.

PEOPLE: The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

PEOPLE: He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

PUBLIC CONFESSION OF SIN

Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts: Cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires, that with reverent and humble hearts we may draw near to you, confessing our faults, confiding in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and strength; through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

LEADER:Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: Now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Now, lift up your hearts!

King of heaven, Lord of me, I don’t understand this mystery. I can’t comprehend how You can be King of heaven and Lord of me.

The hand that made the moon and stars is the hand that reaches down to me.
The Holy One for the lowly comes and lays aside His majesty.

How great a love that You are mindful of and Father to the least of these.

CONFESSION OF FAITH

LEADER: What advantage is it to us to know that God has created, and by his providence does still uphold all things?

PEOPLE: That we may be patient in adversity; thankful in prosperity; and that in all things, which may hereafter befall us, we place our firm trust in our faithful God and Father, that nothing shall separate us from his love; since all creatures are so in his hand, that without his will they cannot so much as move.
