CALL TO WORSHIP

PASTOR: Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

PEOPLE: Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

PASTOR: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

PEOPLE: For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

PASTOR: The Lord be with you!

ALL: "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the Lord.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

LEADER:Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: When we were overwhelmed by sins, He forgave our transgressions. He forgave the iniquity of His people and covered all their sins. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

CONFESSION OF FAITH

LEADER: How is the Word made effectual to salvation?

PEOPLE: The Spirit of God makes the reading, but especially the preaching, of the Word, an effectual means of convincing and converting sinners, and of building them up in holiness and comfort, through faith, unto salvation.

LEADER: How is the Word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to salvation?

PEOPLE: That the Word may become effectual to salvation, we must attend thereunto with diligence, preparation, and prayer; receive it with faith and love, lay it up in our hearts, and practice it in our lives.
