  I Will Arise and Go To Jesus

I will arise and go to Jesus, he will embrace me with his arms
In the arms of my dear Savior, O there are ten thousand charms

Come thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 96:7–9

PASTOR: Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

PEOPLE: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.

ALL: Worship the LORD in the sple ndor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.

PASTOR: The Lord be with you!

PEOPLE: And also with you!

INVOCATION

LEADER: We give thanks to you, Lord, for you are good.
ALL: Your love endures forever. Amen.

PRAISING THE LORD

Hymn 122
  God, All Nature Sings Thy Glory

PUBLIC CONFESSION OF SIN

ALL: Merciful God, in your gracious presence we confess our sin. Although Christ is among us as our peace, we are a people divided against ourselves as we cling to the values of a broken world. We pursue profit and pleasures that we should not and harbor jealousy against our neighbors. We abuse your good gifts of freedom, intellect and reason, and have turned them into bonds of oppression.

Lord, have mercy upon us; heal and forgive us. Set us free to serve you in the world as agents of your reconciling love in Jesus Christ. Amen.

PRIVATE CONFESSION OF SIN

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Psalm 51:16–17

LEADER:Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: The Lord does not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; He does not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!"

RESPONDING IN SONG

Hymn 53
  Praise to the Lord, the Almighty

CONFESSION OF FAITH

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds.
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified;
who spoke by the prophets;
and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church;
we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

PREPARING TO HEAR GOD'S WORD

Ensemble & Congregation
  Here in This Place

Lay your burden down, ev’ry care you carry,
And come to the table of grace, for there is mercy.
We come just as we are, though we’re all unworthy
To enter Your presence, O Lord, for You are holy.

We lift our hearts, we lift our hands, we fall on our knees and pray,
To the King of kings, for the love You bring is here in this place.
We raise our voices, raise our song, we offer You our praise.
You’re the King of kings and the joy You bring is here,
You are here in this place.

Fill our lives with praise; show us Your forgiveness,
And give us the faith to believe that You’ve redeemed us.
You are Lord of all and we give You glory.
All honor and power and praise, for You are worthy.

Repeat Chorus Twice

You Will Be Our God

You will be our God and we will be Your people.
You will be our God and we will be Your people.

By Your plan and mighty hand, we have been formed. We will be Your people.
We rebelled, but by Your blood, we’ve been restored. We will be Your people.

Chorus

We’ll live lives of purity to honor Your name. We will be Your people.
We will love and show the world we’re unashamed. We will be Your people.

Repeat Chorus
