CALL TO WORSHIP

PASTOR: Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

ALL: Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.

LEADER: He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

PEOPLE: Blessed is the man who always fears the LORD but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

LEADER: Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live in righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

CONFESSING OUR FAITH

LEADER: People of God, what do we believe?

We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
he remained under the power of death.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy apostolic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

PASTOR: From the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
