CALL TO WORSHIP

Psalm 124:8; 95:1-2

PASTOR: Our help is in the name of the Lord,

PEOPLE: Who made heaven and earth.

PASTOR: Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord and shout with joy to the rock of our salvation!

ALL: Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

PASTOR: The Lord be with you!

PEOPLE: And also with you!

PRAISING THE LORD

Hymn 498
  Jesus! What A Friend For Sinners!

CONFESSING OUR SINS PUBLICLY

ALL: Merciful God, in your gracious presence we confess our sin. Although Christ is among us as our peace, we are a people divided against ourselves as we cling to the values of a broken world. We pursue profit and pleasures that we should not and harbor jealousy against our neighbors. We abuse your good gifts of freedom, intellect and reason, and have turned them into bonds of oppression.

Lord, have mercy upon us; heal and forgive us. Set us free to serve you in the world as agents of your reconciling love in Jesus Christ. Amen.

CONFESSING OUR SINS PRIVATELY

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Colossians 2:13

LEADER: Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

RESPONDING IN SONG

Hymn 310
  Rejoice, The Lord Is King

THANKING GOD FOR HIS PRESENCE

LEADER: We give thanks to you, Lord, for you are good.
ALL: Your love endures forever. Amen.

CONFESSING OUR FAITH

Apostles’ Creed

LEADER: People of God, what do we believe?

PEOPLE: We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
he remained under the power of death.
The third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy apostolic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.   Awesome God

Our God is an awesome God, He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, pow’r and love, our God is an awesome God.

Shout to the Lord

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like you:
All of my days I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love.
My Comfort, my Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of your name.
I sing for joy at the work of your hands,
Forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand;
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

PASTOR: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

ALL: The Lord is King forever! Hallelujah! Amen.
