  King of Heaven

King of heaven, Lord of me, I don’t understand this mystery.
I can’t comprehend how You can be King of heaven and Lord of me.

The hand that made the moon and stars is the hand that reaches down to me.
The Holy One for the lowly comes and lays aside His majesty.
The eyes that always watch the world are the eyes that see inside of me.
How great a love that You are mindful of and Father to the least of these.

The One that could have worn the crown wore the thorns upon His head.

CONFESSING OUR SINS PUBLICLY

 

ALL: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love. We have not loved our neighbors, and we have refused to proclaim your gospel.

Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LEADER: What do you believe concerning the holy catholic Christian church?

ALL: I believe that the Son of God, out of the whole human race, from the beginning of the world to its end, gathers, defends, and preserves for Himself, by His Spirit and Word, in the unity of the true faith, a church chosen to everlasting life. And I believe that I am and forever shall remain a living member of it.

LEADER: What do you understand by the communion of saints?

ALL: First, that believers, all and everyone, as members of Christ have communion with Him and share in all His treasures and gifts. Second, that everyone is duty-bound to use his gifts readily and cheerfully for the benefit and well-being of the other members.

Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea,
A great High Priest who name is “Love,” who ever lives and pleads for me.

PASTOR: I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge— that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations.
