ACTIVITIES & CONCERNS OF THE CHURCH

PREPARING IN STILLNESS

WELCOMING THE ASSEMBLY

PASTOR: The Lord be with you!
PEOPLE: And also with you!

CONFESSING OUR SINS

ALL: Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love. We have not loved our neighbors, and we have refused to proclaim your gospel.

Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

CONFESSING OUR SINS PRIVATELY

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Romans 8:1-2

PASTOR: Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set us free from the law of sin and death. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

SINGING TO THE LORD

Hymn 358

For All the Saints (Verses 1-3, 5-6)

CALL TO WORSHIP

from Psalm 118:24; 34:3

PASTOR: This is the day the LORD has made;

PEOPLE: Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

PASTOR: O magnify the LORD with me;

ALL: Let us exalt his name together.

RESPONDING IN SONG

O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing

CONFESSING OUR FAITH

The Nicene Creed

PASTOR: People of God, what do we believe?

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds.
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified;
who spoke by the prophets;
and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church;
we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

THANKING GOD FOR HIS PRESENCE

PASTOR: We give thanks to you, Lord, for you are good.
ALL: Your love endures forever. Amen.

PRAYING TOGETHER FOR GOD'S PEOPLE

Pastor Dave Clelland

CHORAL ANTHEM

Choir & Brass

A Jubilant Song (Larson)

Sing to the Lord a jubilant song. Sing to the Lord a jubilant song.
Rejoice and sing and let the earth be glad,
Let the heavens be filled with joy, and a jubilant song.

Sing alleluia to the Lord, alleluia, alleluia.
Tell of His salvation from day to day.
Shout His marvelous works among the people,
For great is the Lord, great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised.

Lord, you have been our refuge from one generation to another.
Before the mountains were made, or the land and the sea were born,
From age to age you are God, and we pray for the coming of your Kingdom.
We shall rejoice, we shall be glad all the days of our lives.

DEDICATING OUR LIVES & GIFTS

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
