WELCOMING THE ASSEMBLY

PASTOR: The Lord be with you!
PEOPLE: And also with you!

CONFESSING OUR SINS

ALL: O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, be the God of Your people today! We confess that we have worshipped all too many other gods. We have devoted ourselves to the values of the world. Turn our hearts to You again! We confess that we have visited all too many sanctuaries, which are not Yours. We have tried to find the sources of life in all too many other places. We have made idols of our occupations, our recreations, and our homes. We turn to You, and to You alone, to be our God, our only God.

Give us spiritual integrity. Give us wholeness and holiness. Answer us, O Lord, answer us, that we will be, in truth, Your people. All honor and power be to You, O Christ, forever and ever. Amen.

CONFESSING OUR SINS PRIVATELY

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Isaiah 1:18

PASTOR: Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: The LORD says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

DRAWING NEAR TO WORSHIP

Hymn 598

Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

CALL TO WORSHIP

from Psalm 145

PASTOR:I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

PEOPLE: All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you. They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom..

ALL: Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

RESPONDING IN SONG

Hymn 353

I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord (stanzas 1, 2, 4-6)

THANKING GOD FOR HIS PRESENCE

LEADER: We give thanks to you, Lord, for you are good.
ALL: Your love endures forever. Amen.

CONFESSING OUR FAITH

Heidelberg Catechism, 45

PASTOR: How does Christ’s resurrection benefit us?

PEOPLE: First, by His resurrection He has overcome death, so that He could make us share in the righteousness which He had obtained for us by His death. Second, by His power we too are raised up to a new life. Third, Christ’s resurrection is to us a sure pledge of our glorious resurrection.

PRAYING TOGETHER FOR GOD'S PEOPLE

Pastor Dave Clelland

Choral Anthem

Choir

Sing to His Name

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord, give praise, O servants of the Lord,
You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord, give praise, O servants of the Lord,
Give praise, for the Lord our God is good;

Sing to his name, sing, sing, O sing, for he is gracious.
Thy name, O Lord, endures always, thy renown, O Lord, throughout all time.

O house of Israel, bless the Lord! O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
O house of Levi, bless the Lord! You that fear the Lord, bless the Lord!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord, give praise, O servants of the Lord,
Give praise, O praise the Lord!

Praise him, all creatures here below, Alleluia, Alleluia

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.

DEDICATING OUR LIVES & GIFTS

Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

PREPARING TO HEAR GOD'S WORD

Ensemble & Congregation

Give Thanks to the Lord

Give thanks to the Lord, for the works of his hand, for a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
Give thanks to the Lord for we all now can stand and fear not of being forsaken.

Give thanks to the Lord for His righteousness.
Give thanks to the Lord for His love.
Let us worship his name and his holiness: give thanks to the Lord;
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, give thanks.

Give thanks to the Father for sending his Son. Give thanks to the Son for the Spirit.
Now lift up your voices to God, three in One, and shout so the whole world can hear it.

Repeat Chorus Twice

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure!
How great the pain of searing loss; the Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon the cross, my sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life— I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom.

APPLYING GOD'S WORD

Pastor Dave Clelland

Time or Eternity - Luke 10:38-42
(Text and Outline will be included on Sunday)

RESPONDING IN SONG

Hymn 580
Lead On, O King Eternal

RECEIVING GOD'S BLESSING

1 Peter 5:8-11

PASTOR: Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

To him be the power for ever and ever.

ALL: The Lord is King forever! Hallelujah! Amen.
