Worship Theme: The Lord Almighty

PRELUDE

Rob & Eric Anderson

ACTIVITIES & CONCERNS OF THE CHURCH

PREPARING IN STILLNESS

WELCOMING THE ASSEMBLY

PASTOR: The Lord be with you!
PEOPLE: And also with you!

CONFESSING OUR SINS

ALL: Lord God! Eternal and Almighty Father, we acknowledge and confess before Your holy Majesty that we are poor sinners, conceived and born in guilt and in corruption, prone to do evil, unable of ourselves to do any good, who, by reason of our depravity, transgress without end Your holy commandments. Therefore, we have drawn upon ourselves, by Your just sentence, condemnation and death.

But, Oh Lord! with heartfelt sorrow, we repent and deplore our offenses. We condemn ourselves and our evil ways, with true penitence, beseeching that Your grace may relieve our distress. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

John 3:16-17

PASTOR: Hear the promises of God to those who truly repent of their sins and trust in Christ: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Now, lift up your hearts!

PEOPLE: We lift them up to the Lord!

DRAWING NEAR TO WORSHIP

Ensemble & Congregation

Greatly Rejoice

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who has caused us to be born again to a living hope,
Who has caused us to be born again to a living hope,
A hope that won’t fade away, reserved in heaven for us,
Protected by the power of God through faith, we are saved, we are saved!

We greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible,
Greatly rejoice with glorious praise, greatly rejoice in a life incorruptible,
Love beyond measure, and infinite grace,
Love beyond measure, and infinite grace.

Through the trials of life you’re working to prove our faith as gold,
In Your love we’re persevering for one day soon we know
You’ll explode through the clouds as Your shout cracks the sky,
Dead in Christ will arise as You call home Your bride,
And though we’ve not seen Your face, this greatest glory awaits,
‘Till then by the power of God through faith we are saved, we are saved!

Repeat Chorus

CALL TO WORSHIP

from Psalm 29

PASTOR: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

PEOPLE: The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.

PASTOR: The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; The LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD makes the deer to calve, And strips the forests bare, And in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

ALL: The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

RESPONDING IN SONG

Hymn 12

Exalt the Lord, His Praise Proclaim

THANKING GOD FOR HIS PRESENCE

PASTOR: We give thanks to you, Lord, for you are good.
ALL: Your love endures forever. Amen.

CONFESSING OUR FAITH

Heidelberg Catechism, 31-32

PASTOR: Why is the Savior called Christ, that is, Anointed?

PEOPLE: Because He has been ordained by God the Father, and anointed with the Holy Spirit, to be our chief Prophet and Teacher, who has fully revealed to us the secret counsel and will of God concerning our redemption; our only High Priest, who by the one sacrifice of His body has redeemed us, and who continually intercedes for us before the Father; and our eternal King, who governs us by His Word and Spirit, and who defends and preserves us in the redemption obtained for us.

PASTOR: Why are you called a Christian?

PEOPLE: Because I am a member of Christ by faith and thus share in His anointing, so that I may as prophet confess His Name, as priest present myself a living sacrifice of thankfulness to Him, and as king fight with a free and good conscience against sin and the devil in this life, and hereafter reign with Him eternally over all creatures.

Special Music

TNPC Acapella Ensemble

Almighty God Medley

I sing the almighty pow’r of God that made the mountains rise; That spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies. I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day; The moon shines full at His command and all the stars obey.

Who filled the sky with radiant stars to glorify the night? Who knows the path that leads up to the dwelling place of Light? Creator, Master Holiness, sustainer of my soul, He reigns in golden splendor, Almighty God, Almighty God.

Who used His words to lay out the foundations of the earth? Who sent His Son so man born dead could have a second birth? Jehovah, Father, Mighty King, sustainer of my soul, He reigns in golden splendor, Almighty God, Almighty God.

He is excellent in power, all creation speaks His majesty. Jehovah, Father, Mighty King, sustainer of my soul, He reigns in golden splendor, His heavens filled with wonder He purchased by forever, Almighty God, Almighty God.

Awesome God

Our God is an awesome God, He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, pow’r and love, our God is an awesome God.

Shout to the Lord

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like you:
All of my days I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love.
My Comfort, my Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of your name.
I sing for joy at the work of your hands,
Forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand;
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
