News from WIC!

Our next meeting is February 9th at 7:00 pm in the WIC rooms. We will be putting together LOVE BOXES to send to our college students and servicemen to enjoy. If you are interested in contributing, please bake goodies that ship well, like bar cookies. If you have time, individually wrap them in saran wrap. If not, then please bring the baked goods to the church that night, where we will wrap them before packaging. Once boxed and sent, these items will do much to show our love to both the students and the servicemen who fight for our country! If you are unable to make some baked goodies, please consider making a donation to cover the cost of postage.
NOMINATIONS for the WIC COUNCIL
Description: It is time to elect new members to the WIC Council. None of the current members - Sandy Hotz, Karla Pollock, and Lisa Davis - are standing for election for this coming year. This past year was a transition year for our church as well as for our WIC leadership. For the last 4 years, the council functioned using divisions according to areas of ministry, as opposed to specific positions such as treasurer, secretary, etc. In the past, the Council tried to stagger the length of term for its members. Until this past election, we had always nominated people for a particular position. However - this last year in particular- we worked together as a team instead of functioning as holders of individual offices. We shared all of the WIC tasks and the various areas of responsibility, even though we felt it important to continue to have an office of President separate from the Council.
Process & Timeline: The WIC Council (nominating committee) is taking names for the upcoming year for the WIC Council. Nomination forms, along with a specially marked WIC box for their submission, will be made available in the narthex of the church. The individuals you plan to nominate must be members of Town North. Names can be submitted until the end of February. The names of the people suggested for nomination will then be submitted to the Session for approval. The final list of nominees will be announced in March.
Future Council: We are looking for four (4) women to serve on the WIC council: two for a 1-year term and two for a 2-year term. The outgoing council will be working with the new council in this ongoing transition. We will elect a President as well as other council members. The following areas of responsibility will be shared: Communication (formerly vested in the Secretary position), Discipleship (Bible Study and Ladies Small Groups), Fellowship (monthly focus), Service (Network, Love boxes, etc.). REGIONAL POTLUCK DINNERS
On March 9th we will be having Regional Potluck Dinners- something we did many years ago. If you are interested in hosting a dinner at your home, please contact anyone on the WIC Council (Sandy Hotz, Karla Pollock, and Lisa Davis). More information to follow as the date gets closer.
