Praise the LORD for a great Workday!!!!
By Byron Black
We accomplished many tasks, there were “many hands who made work light,” and, we had a fantastic workday together on November 14th!
Thanks to all who labored to fix up and spruce up the facility! It was a great day! Personally, and, for the Deacons, let me say it truly was a big encouragement to see so many turn out and to accomplish so many tasks.
Once again, we surpassed all my stretch goals. We completed eight of the top ten high-priority tasks! Praise God!! No one was hurt or injured, and over 40 members shared the workload and enjoyed fellowship as they ‘put their hands to the work.’ Altogether, we accomplished over 50 maintenance tasks. Some of the more important and obvious changes you’ll see are:
- A newly painted Multi-purpose room on the 2nd floor of the CE building.
- Re-fitted treated wood into the joints of the sidewalks, to remove/repair any tripping hazards.
- Re-painting at the trip-point in the north parking lot.
- A more visible sign. We removed shrubs near the brick sign at the main entrance to increase our sign visibility. The team then replanted the shrubs near the Church office parking lot.
- Repair of the door closer for the 2nd floor ladies restroom in the Administration building.
- Shortening of all mini-blind cords to a ‘child safety’ length in the Administration and CE buildings.
- Removal of weeds from all flowerbeds.
- Cleaning and “waxing” of all white-boards. New erasers for all the white boards.
- Doors that are easier to open. We lubricated and “graphited’ all exterior glass doors and crash bars for each of our three buildings.
- Neatly trimmed shrubs around the main buildings.
Other important, but less obvious, tasks were accomplished that will keep the facility in good operating order. These included:
- Beginning the insulation of all exterior AC Freon lines.
- Replacement all the HVAC air filters.
- Beginning the inspection and repair/maintenance of all door closers in the fellowship hall and sanctuary.
Many other items and furniture were cleaned, dusted, polished and/or straightened. A cheerful and willing bunch of workers accomplished all these tasks. Praise the LORD for the ”sweat-equity’ fellowship at TNPC!!
